JACK Perkins’ two-event Super2 Series sojourn with the Blanchard Racing Team will come in retro colours celebrating a famous partnership between Larry Perkins and Peter Janson.
A stunning livery mimicking that used on the Holden Torana A9X the pair raced to second place in the 1979 Bathurst 1000 was first revealed on a Gen3 Mustang in February.

It’s now been applied to BRT’s Super2 machine as Jack readies for race outings in upcoming rounds at Townsville and Sandown.
Perkins is competing in the second-tier class in preparation for his co-driver duties in the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 at BRT alongside James Courtney.

The Janson livery is the latest in a series of throwbacks put together by Perkins and sponsor Shaw & Partners.
Previous efforts replicated 1982 Holden Dealer Team and 1993 Castrol Perkins colours to celebrate milestone victories achieved by six-time Bathurst-winner Larry.

Jack is still chasing a Bathurst crown of his own, having achieved a best of third-place in the 2019 Great Race with Courtney while at Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Although Perkins has raced Ford Falcon machinery in the Supercars Championship and Super2 previously, Townsville will mark his first race outing in a Mustang.
As reported by V8 Sleuth on Wednesday, Perkins’ Super2 entry will be managed by team owner Blanchard and engineered by the legendary Wally Storey.
