Supercars personality to sub for Rust in rally role

SUPERCARS big screen host/roving reporter Charlie Barlow will substitute for Greg Rust on the Motorsport Australia Rally Championship broadcast this weekend.

Barlow will co-host with Dean Herridge at Rally Queensland, as Rust takes a family vacation following his appearance at last weekend’s Southern Lights Rally in New Zealand.

He is due back in time for the Middle of Everywhere Gippsland Rally in August.

Barlow meanwhile is a familiar face to some Australian motorsport fans, her duties beyond the big screen including being PR & media executive for Supercars, an event emcee, and FIA Girls on Track ambassador.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the ARC team in Gympie this weekend,” she said.

“While Rusty takes a well-earned break, I’m looking forward to immersing myself in all things rally, and beyond excited to be working alongside the fantastic Dean Herridge.

“The world of rallying is all a bit new for me, but I can’t wait to share the energy, the cars and the competition of this awesome event with our audience.”

In addition to social media coverage, the June 28-30 event in Gympie will have daily wrap shows on the Saturday/Sunday nights as well as highlights packages available via 7plus.
