PAUL Gover is the focus of the latest episode of the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Doric.

We've talked to plenty of legendary racers already on the V8 Sleuth Podcast, but in this episode we're chatting to a journalist who was right there in the thick of it, telling the story behind the story of moments that have gone down in Australian motorsport history.

He's the guy who gave Russell Ingall the nickname 'The Enforcer', a friend of Arthur Moffat's, and a handy steerer in his own right.

A few highlights from the chat ahead: the time he suddenly found himself racing as Peter Brock's co-driver at Mount Panorama, the story that could have stopped Craig Lowndes from winning his first Bathurst 1000, and his take on the current crop of Supercars stars.
