YOUNG gun Will Brown has signed with Erebus Motorsport for this year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup.

The 19-year-old won last year’s Mike Kable Young Gun Award off the back of his debut season in the Dunlop Super2 Series with Eggleston Motorsport.

The Toowoomba-based racer, who competed at Bathurst and Newcastle last year with support from V8 Sleuth, won the 2016 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship as well as the Toyota 86 Racing Series.

“I’m super excited, obviously to get a co-drive, start my first Bathurst 1000 and make my main series debut is pretty cool,” Brown said.

He and Luke Youlden have been confirmed as the team’s endurance signings alongside regular pilots David Reynolds and Anton de Pasquale.

Erebus Motorsport’s press release issued today did not allude to which co-driver would drive alongside which primary driver later this season.

Brown is no stranger to Bathurst - he won the Toyota 86 round at Mount Panorama in 2016, won the Invitational Class in last year’s 12 Hour in a MARC Cars Focus and finished fifth in last October’s 250-kilometre Super2 race in his first time at the circuit in a Supercar.

"Will has been a real stand out talent in the recent years and particularly in his rookie Super2 season in 2017,” says Erebus General Manager of Motorsport, Barry Ryan.

“We are very pleased to sign Will to drive his maiden Enduro Cup; he displays maturity above his years both on and off track.

"We look forward to seeing his driving talents first hand and being part of his development and growth."

Brown will get his first taste of the team’s ZB Commodore in February when he joins them for their first test day.

The team is building a new chassis for de Pasquale while Reynolds will race his 2017-built Commodore upgraded from VF to ZB specification.
