NEW Zealand motorsport icon Greg Murphy will be added to the Supercars broadcast team for this weekend’s ITM Taupō Super400.
Murphy has been a popular presence in various cameo appearances in recent seasons, and will be back to offer a Kiwi flavour as Supercars makes its grand return to NZ.
Joining an otherwise unchanged line-up, Murphy will be called on for special comments and guest host appearances.
This weekend’s event marks Taupō Motorsport Park’s debut on the Supercars calendar, succeeding the now-defunct Pukekohe Park Raceway.
Murphy was known as the King of Pukekohe after winning nine of the first 15 Supercars Championship races there.
The 51-year-old was named motorsport manager of the Tony Quinn-owned Taupō circuit in 2022.
Supercars action at Taupō will begin with practice on Friday from 10:55am AEST (12:55pm local time).
